Message from the Superintendent

As Superintendent of Schools it is my honor to welcome you to South Harrison Community School Corporation and thank you for taking the time to visit our corporation website. South Harrison is a great place for young people to learn and grow in a caring and nurturing environment with a staff that cares about the well-being of each child.

With over 3,000 students, South Harrison is the largest school corporation in Harrison County with a comprehensive array of services provided to students, yet small enough to know each child individually. It consists of:

  • Corydon Elementary School

  • Corydon Intermediate School

  • Corydon Central Junior High School

  • Corydon Central High School

  • Heth-Washington Elementary School

  • New Middletown Elementary School

  • South Central Elementary School

  • South Central Jr-Sr High School

South Harrison also hosts the Harrison County Exceptional Learners Cooperative on its Corydon campus. This cooperative serves all three school districts in Harrison County.

You will find that South Harrison offers a diverse curriculum with a wide array of dual credit/advanced placement courses, drama, band, clubs, and a full competitive sports program to support the development of the whole student.

If you are considering moving into the South Harrison area you will find it to be a wonderful place to live and raise a family. Many community events, recreational activities, and natural beauty abound with open and friendly people in all of our communities. If you are considering enrolling your child at South Harrison, I would encourage you to browse the school websites, contact the individual school to talk with the principal, and tour the school to hear about the good things going on with our students.

I am privileged to live and work in the South Harrison community. I look forward to meeting you as I visit our schools and communities. There is much to be proud of at South Harrison in the accomplishments of our students and staff. I encourage you to please consider learning more about our schools and community.

Thank you,
Dr. Mark A. Eastridge, Ph.D.
